Groove Z18 – 1 Bar 4-4 Linear Funk 1 – 100 – b.p.m
Linear drumming is simply the concept of playing many notes consecutively to construct a groove.
No two drums are played simultaneously. It has a particular sound to it but is not really a style but
more of a technique that can be used exclusively or as an occasional drumming effect. Drummers
such as Steve Gadd and David Garibaldi have used this technique very successfully in some of their
work. The bass part here is functional but exciting and dynamic and fulfils the role of locking in
beautifully with the drum groove.
